I LOVE photography and the magic of maybe for one inescapable moment being able to 'capture' the NOW, the HERE, the present. It's like standing in front of the sublime,like Barnett Newman's "Vir Heroicus Sublimus", almost able to touch it, yet it's past and present and future; for the photo will remain when we are all deceased.
I love music, and people's hands. Particularly those of guitar players, though the most emotionally evocative photo I've taken was of a pianist's... I think the world without music would be a dire place to exist it, for it would not be living. Whether you listen to metal or goth or punk or (omg) ...rave... it's still (cliche I know) but food for the soul. I could spend hours lost in the entrancing capability of Tool (my favourite band at the moment, Lateralus is awesome!) or getting lost in the seeminly happy lyrics of Harris Tweed, like Leonard Cohen. It's only superficially happy, but underneath runs a current of sadness and incredible longing...
